AREA is a young but fast growing company, characterized by a continuous search for innovation and lively creativity. Founded in 1998 in the province of Udine, nowadays the company has 65 employees and can boast an important presence in the main European and Extra-European Countries. In 2005 it moved to Villa Caiselli in Cortello, a prestigious patrician villa of the 17th century, built over Lombard remains. It became the representative operating headquarter of the company, surrounded by a park of over 50 thousand square metres. This move marked a further, important evolution for Area.
Dynamism, great product culture, international ranging design, the exclusive presence of house brands in its portfolio, a wide range of products offered for diverse target customers, the reference values and the pricing of the product, a strong relation with the territory: these are the winning elements which made Area stand out as one of the most original companies in the sector of the Italian eyewear. The situation is atypical for a company working in the sector: due to the strong international expansion, up to now the italian market has been of little strategic importance in the company distribution philosophy. In May 2008 an important network of 15 sole agents was set up: they work all over the italian territory for the brands’ portfolio of Area. Area has always been indirectly present in the European market. In September 2008 it directly acceded to the markets of the main European Countries, thanks to a structure based on Country Area Managers locally running the sales networks; at the same time, inside the company were set up dedicated customer service offices in the various languages. Area has always been present in the most important international markets through historical partners sharing the company values and arranging the distribution of Area’s brands according to the needs of the local market, without misrepresenting every brand inspiring values. Area’s brands are present in more than 30 Extra European Countries, with a network of more than 70 distributors.
